About Mark Simon

Mark was inspired to join the financial industry by his beloved Uncle Richard, and by his father, Leroy, who both had careers in that field. Mark began his career as a financial professional in 2004, working for National Bond & Trust (NBT) Company from Crown Point, Indiana. Mark was responsible for conducting presentations in front of groups of employees regarding their employee benefits, including Savings Bonds and Life Insurance options. Sometimes, Mark would set up a booth to talk with employees during company Benefit Fairs. Mark traveled to company sites in Nevada, Northern California, Arizona, San Diego, and all over Los Angeles. Mark was responsible for employee benefits at numerous large and well-known companies, including AT&T, Sempra Energy, Southern California Edison, Verizon, BNSF Railroad, The MTA, and many others. During his time at NBT, Mark was a Top 5 producing agent nationwide each year. In 2005, Mark began to conduct business outside of NBT, and established Diversified Benefits Insurance Services.

Mark later accepted a position with MassMutual, at the oldest financial group Los Angeles: The Fraser Financial Group in Beverly Hills. He had the privilege of working alongside some of the most revered and experienced financial professionals in the industry. It was at MassMutual that Mark continued his studies and earned the respected LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow) designation from The American College. Mark also earned certificates in Essentials of Business Owners Insurance, Essentials of Retirement Planning, and Long Term Care Planning.

Since 2011, Mark has focused his work solely on Diversified Benefits Insurance Services. Being a broker allows Mark to focus on his clients needs more clearly, and offer the best customized solutions available for his clients, not on sales quotas.

Outside of his professional career, Mark spends a great deal of time being active in his church community. He has taught Sunday School, been Chairman of Camp St. Nicholas in Frazier Park-  an year-round camping ground on 13 acres. Mark also served as Chairman of the L.A. Mediterranean Festival. It was also his honor to sit on the Parish Council of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Christian Cathedral for 6 years, and to serve as the President of the Parish Council in 2011.

As a Los Angeles native, born and raised in the city, Mark has a lifelong love of the Los Angeles Dodger baseball. Mark also enjoys music, and attended his first concert as a teenager here in the city: Motley Crue at the Whiskey A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip. His taste in music is wide-ranged, with his latest concert being the Mariachi Vargas performance at the Starlight Bowl in Burbank. Other concerts he has enjoyed include Pavarotti, The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews Band, Van Halen, RUSH, Chicago, Ella Fitzgerald, Poncho Sanchez, Tito Puente, El Gran Combo, Journey, and many others.
